hello i'm Rachel

DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER, FRANCE

Hello, I'm Rachel, owner and lead photographer at Rachel Ann Photographie. In 2020 I left my native country (Britain) for France in pursuit of my own love story, and now (one French husband and a baby later), I have the pleasure of telling yours.

My journey with photography started with a passion for weddings. Yes, I was that 15 year old girl with her Pinterest board already filled with pictures of beautiful ceremonies around the world. Maybe I was a bit weird, but there was something about weddings that drew me in even from a young age. There are few events in life that bring as much joy, emotion and beauty as a wedding. So if, like me, you appreciate creativity, art and love, you've come to the right place!

In 2021, we expanded the team by partnering with a videographer to bring even more immersive coverage to your day.

I travel all over the world and can take on a limited number of clients each year to ensure I can create the highest standard of work.

& REAL MOMENTS

My style is influenced by Fine Art, film, fashion, color, editorial work as well as real moments - a perfect blend of modern and timeless. I help guide when guidance is needed and step back when it's appropriate to let your day unfold naturally. My goal is to make sure I capture every laugh, every tear and every detail of your special day. But beyond the beautiful images, I strive to create a personalized and authentic relationship with all of my couples so that you can truly trust me and my art. I bring energy, enthusiasm and friendship to every wedding day.

MY OWN LOVE STORY

I met Adrian in 2018 during a business trip when I was working a corporate job. At the time I was an international buyer based in England, and he was a sales manager based in France. This meeting completely transformed the trajectory of my life, and following several months of long distance (numerous EasyJet flights, hours of video calls...), I left my native country and moved to France.

We got engaged in June 2021 with the idea of getting married a few months later in England (I jumped straight back onto Pinterest obviously!!). Everything was going well, the date was set (November 13), the venue booked (a Victorian Manor - very English) and the dress was ordered. Then all of a sudden, 1 month before the wedding date, we learnt that Adrian's Wedding Visa has been rejected!!! (Yes yes, you do need a Visa to marry a foreigner now after #Brexit). It was a huge shock for both of us, and especially with so little time before the big day to solve the problem, my dream wedding was in jeopardy!!!

It was very tough for me to accept the idea of having a courthouse/registry office wedding inFrance, or to have two separate celebrations, but in the end it was the only solution.

On October 29th, we officially got married at the City Hall in Reims in a green dress with 6 guests. We exchanged vows, had lunch at the Brasserie du Boulingrin and dined at the beautiful Château de Rilly. And you know what? It was the most incredible day ever. Intimate, emotional and stress-free. I loved this day more than I could have ever imagined.

2 weeks later, we finally had our English wedding (minus the legal part!) at my childhood church in England. The weather was beautiful, we were surrounded by all of our loved ones, I wore a ginormous veil, and you know what? It was the wedding of my dreams.

This experience taught me many things, too many to list here (I will write a blog post about it soon). But most of all I learned that there truly is a place for two different wedding days. I loved these two different days so much, and now I actually recommend it to all of my brides and grooms! Plus, it's definitely the most practical solution for a lot of destination wedding couples.

It was a real shock for both of us, and especially with so little time before the big day to sort out the situation, my dream wedding was in jeopardy. You should know that in England, the churches have the power to marry people civilly - there is no separation of church and state like in France).

MEET THE TEAM

VIDEOGRAPHER IN CHAMPAGNE-ARDENNES

As a wedding photographer, I often work with other vendors especially videographers. That's how I met Luka, a videographer or as he likes to call himself a "filmmaker" from Reims who has been working in the wedding industry for over 5 years with his production company ABRAW.

We met back in 2022 when we were booked to work a wedding together. It ended up being such positive experience for us both, that we then decided to join forces and offer packages to couples that combine photography and videgraphy together.

More than just memories, my goal is to provide a timeless experience of your wedding by creating breathtaking works that will stay with you and your family for generations. My vision is to achieve the perfect balance of emotionally rich storytelling, and cinematic visual & audio ambiance.
